Day course with Guest Teacher, Kelsang Chokyi, American Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher at Vajrarupini Buddhist Center in San Diego.
Buddha taught many different methods to support and inspire our practice of meditation. This day course is an opportunity to understand the beauty and power of setting up a personal shrine to serve as a focus for our faith and practice of meditation. We will explore the meaning behind the symbols and scared objects, as well as the practice of water offerings, prayer, and prostrations.
In this workshop we will learn what we need to know in order to start a daily practice: how to prepare our room, how to set up a shrine, how to prepare for meditation, and the basic prayers and meditations used by Kadampa Buddhists.
No prior experience is necessary. $30 for the day, includes delicious vegetarian lunch.
