Imagine if it were you: Most children want a dog - your child needs one.
Most parents can get them one - you can’t!
Jessica is a brave little girl who was born with Down syndrome and heart defects that left her weakened and required several surgeries. Her therapist has determined that a service dog would be of inestimable help in her continued improvement, development, and personal safety in learning to navigate the world in ways we take for granted. Unfortunately, such specially and intensively trained service dogs are expensive; they are not covered under insurance, and companies that supply free ones have long waiting lists and are caught in catch-22 policies due to Jessica's age. A service dog to help Jessica with her needs costs $26,000.00. So we are going to get this little girl her dog with your help with a benefit featuring a BBQ Dinner, Live and Silent Auctions, Raffle, and Live Music. Providing items for the raffle and auctions are a great way to get exposure your company's product or service to an involved market while helping someone in need.
With Performances By
Richard Cagle Richard Cagle & The Voodoo Choir
Richard Cagle has been a fixture of the Houston Texas music scene from the days of his first band "Shades of Time" with Joe "King" Curasco when he was in the seventh grade to managing and producing superb local talent such as Carolyn Wonderland, Under the Sun, Rosebud, Pasadena Napalm Division, and Clay Farmer to the 2010 first release of his latest project, The Voodoo Choir. He opened the Houston live music institution Urban Art Bar and is the co-owner of Montrose Records. Of Richard Cagle & The Voodoo Choir he says, "The vision/concept for this album came to me several years ago. I knew I wanted to produce a Blues album, but instead of putting together a band, writing the songs, rehearsing and then recording, I wanted to do it all at once. I wanted it to be a true Zen moment. So, I invited some of the best musicians in Houston to join me in this adventure. The Blues is all about feeling, and on this project, we all poured our hearts into it."
Clara McVille
Clara McVille has had 2 singles released by her distribution company, Stadium Entertainment/EMI - "Always Mine" and "China Doll." In October 2010 her six-song EP entitled "Concert Edition" was released in conjunction with her opening for John Michael Montgomery in Shreveport, LA. Clara's rise to fame began in 2007, straight out of high school, when she headed to Los Angeles where she began vigorously pursuing an acting career. Ten months into her LA acting pursuits, music came calling with an invitation to record with the legendary Gary Katz (Steely Dan, Joe Cocker, Diana Ross and many more). Having completed her 10 song recording by November, 2008, Clara moved back to Houston in early 2009, and began the work of getting her music to market. Trained in commercial, stage and film acting, improv, voice and piano, Clara has performed roles in 7 movies, has been in numerous TV commercials for regional and national companies, and also has performed in 24 theater productions.
Cheyenne James
Cheyenne began singing at the age of three; got her "Big Girl" voice at 10 and from then on has been known as "Lil Miss Blue Eyed Soul." She has performed at Texas Roadhouses, restaurants, festivals and private functions from Victoria to Paris , TX . Her favorite genre is Old Rhythm & Blues (from Sam Cooke to Etta James, but also does current music from Adele to Kid Rock. And tears up Janis Joplin – just sayin'. As a member of the National Thespian Society and has performed in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Fringe Festival; paying her own way by her singing and sales of two CD’s, and was nominated for the TUTS Tommy Tune Award for her performance as Princess Winifred in the musical "Once Upon a Mattress."
