A Discussion About Writing Young Adult Mysteries February 15, 2007

A reading and discussion about y.a. mystery fiction at the Toronto Chapter of Sisters in Crime’s February meeting. $5.

Sisters in Crime’s mission is: “To combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, educate publishers and the general public as to inequities in the treatment of female authors, raise the level of awareness of their contributions to the field, and promote the professional advancement of women who write mysteries.”

Participants:
* Emily Pohl-Weary is the author of Strange Times at Western High featuring 16-year old zinester and amateur sleuth Natalie Fuentes.
* Jennifer Lanthier’s first book, The Mystery of the Martello Tower: A Hazel Frump Mystery, will be published February 2, 2007. Hazel is about to turn 12 and her father has disappeared.
* Interview conducted by Toronto Star writer Cathy Dunphy.
