Buriton has been linked with a village called Dominase in Ghana, West Africa for some years. Through various links we are gradually helping the rural community in a number of ways. Villagers have recently got mains electricity, and we have helped them fund the building of wells for fresh water closer to their homes, but there is no running water and there are only a couple of rather basic public toilets in Dominase. So what is everyday life like there? An illustrated talk will show life at home, school, local shops and markets, farming and other jobs, health and transport facilities and community 'Taboo Days'. Are you intrigued? Then do join us for a look at life that is very different from ours. Admission:£1 includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
