Life in the 17th century was different from today, but also similar. Find out how at "A Day in the Life of a Colonist." This living history event will showcase some of the professional trades that helped support the fledgling colony as well as other daily-life chores and activities that were essential to the survival and success of Charles Towne. Visitors will get a sense of what life was like in the early settlement as they interact with costumed interpreters portraying militia men, indigo dyers, colonial herbalists, and traders. Visit the wharf area to board a reproduction 17th century trading vessel and experience a day in the life of a sailor. Experiences will also include colonial food ways, black powder demonstrations, and the construction of a colonial structure.
