P’zazz Children’s Choir and Dynamix presents
"A Christmas Treasure" Concert
P’zazz Children’s Choir and Dynamix Teen Vocal Ensemble present their fifth annual Christmas concert "A Christmas Treasure" on Friday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Broomfield Auditorium, 3 Community Park Road. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for seniors/ children. Tickets are available at the door or reservations may be made by calling 720-299-1012.
This year the two choirs will be joined by the outstanding jazz band, After Midnight Jazz. Besides accompanying both choirs and select solos, this smooth and exciting band will play a set of their own. The band includes piano, bass, drums, clarinet and vibes! Songs to be performed include, "Let It Snow," Heirlooms,” a swing version of Jingle Bells (Brian Setzer arrangement), “Good King Kong” (you surely won't want to miss this one!), “Christmas Goes Baroque” and many others.
The concert concludes with two combined choirs consisting of parents and past choir members from Broomfield High School performing the “Hallelujah” (from Mervyn Warren's "A Soulful Celebration") and “Grown-Up Christmas List” by David Foster.
Award-winning choral director Jeannie Card taught in the Boulder Schools for 23 years and is the current director of P’zazz Children’s Choir and Dynamix Vocal Ensemble.
P'zazz is an audition-only group of children of ages ranging from 9 to 12 and performs at least 15 times a year. Dynamix is a vocal ensemble for teens ages 13-15 and the singers in this group must have excellent pitch due to the number of a cappella tunes performed. Both groups have sung extensively in the Boulder-Denver area.
