A Christmas Story, based on the award-winning beloved film, will preview Friday, November 24 at 8 p.m., open Saturday, November 25 at 8 p.m. at Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana and will close Sunday, December 17. This charming holiday story will be directed by Charles Gessert.
Based on Jean Shepherd’s beloved autobiographical memoir, A Christmas Story ranks as one of the funniest holiday tales of all time. A Christmas Story set box office records when first produced by Theatre at the Center in 2002. Set in Northwest Indiana in the 1940’s and told from the viewpoint of eight-year-old Ralphie Parker, this hilarious look into middle-class American life follows Ralphie’s quest to get his dream Christmas gift – A Red Ryder BB Gun. With the perfect mix of gentle humor, pathos and holiday cheer, A Christmas Story will have all laughing into the season!
A Christmas Story stars Mary Ernster as Mother, John Reeger as the Old Man, Norm Boucher as Ralph, Matthew Gerhardt as Ralphie and Liz Pazik as Miss Shields.
The artistic team for A Christmas Story is led by director Charles Gessert with artistic direction by William Pullinsi. Set Design is by Ann Davis, Costume Design is by Janice Pytel, Lighting Design is by Carl Ulaszek, Sound Design is by Matt Sarf and Prop Design is by Stanlee Hodsden.
