Habitot Children’s Museum celebrates the popular East Asian harvest festival at its Mooncake Festival on Saturday, September 27 from 9:30 – 4:30. The celebration of abundance and togetherness dates back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. Children ages 0-6 will enjoy fun activities such as designing Mooncake cards – traditionally given to friends and family when the moon is at its brightest - with calligraphy brushes and black ink. Visitors will also decorate Mooncake boxes using colorful moon- and harvest-themed materials, and enjoy exciting tales about the Mooncake Festival in the Museum’s Storytelling Tent at 10:00am, 11:00am and 12:00pm. All visitors will be able to sample delicious mooncakes, donated by local merchants, and enjoy a cup of green tea. For more information, please visit http://www.habitot.org.
