WHAT: Clark Park People's Flea Market with National Literacy Month Kick-off activities
WHEN: Saturday, September 1st from 9am - 5pm (rain date Sunday)
WHERE: Clark Park, Baltimore and 43rd Street, West Philadelphia
Over 75 vendors sell everything from furniture & household wares, antiques & collectibles, ethnic arts & crafts to bikes, books, jewelry, clothing and great food. This popular and festive market runs 9am - 5pm and is located in the north end of Clark Park, near Baltimore Ave. and 43rd St. in West Philly.
We are hosting several local authors for book signings and a children's story time to kick off National Literacy Month. Story time starts at 1pm at the turtle statue, with books read by Agnes V. Daniels "Mama Aggie."
The Uhuru Solidarity Movement sponsors the Clark Park People's Flea Market, held monthly from April through October. Proceeds from the market benefit Uhuru Movement programs for justice, reparations and liberation for African people. The last date of the 2007 season is Saturday, October 13th.
