8th Annual Summer Shade Festival August 27, 2010

For the eighth year, the Grant Park Conservancy welcomes thousands of guests to a weekend of FREE fun for the entire family. The Summer Shade Festival features two Artist Markets, live music performances on three stages, tasty treats and beautiful late summer weather. Younger attendees will enjoy the Family Fun Zone, an area offering hands-on craft projects and kid-friendly entertainment like storytellers and puppet shows.
Each year the festival also welcomes its tasting extravaganza Corks & Forks: A Fine Food and Wine Event, which includes dishes from many of the city’s top chefs paired with wines and beers from around the world. Corks & Forks also provides a full schedule of cooking demonstrations and wine seminars. Proceeds from this event benefit the Grant Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization committed to the preservation, restoration and maintenance of historic L.P. Grant Park.
