The auction will be anything but silent as the famed Second City comedy troupe helps Child’s Voice celebrate 13 years of teaching deaf children to listen and speak without the use of sign language. Through intervention and the use of assistive listening devices, such as cochlear implants or hearing aids, these children can learn to listen and speak just like their hearing peers.

Child’s Voice was founded in 1996 by three families who wanted more for their children who were deaf or hard of hearing. Six children attended Child’s Voice the first year, and enrollment now exceeds eighty students between birth and age eight.

“The auction gives us the opportunity to gather together for an evening filled with fun activities while raising money to support the school”, shared committee chair Julie Stratis. “As a parent it gives me the opportunity to give back to the school for all of the wonderful opportunities that they have given to my son Danny”.

Held each year in November to raise money for the school, the ‘Not So Silent’ Silent Auction will feature an elegant dinner, silent auction, raffles, and entertainment from the Second City.

Tickets are currently on sale for this exciting event and can be purchased at 630-595-8200. Individual ticket prices are $85 and a table of 10 is $850 receiving reserved seating. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
