826NYC presents THE SPELLING BEAST: A challenge of spelling smarts and outrageous orthography.

Together with the creators of "The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee," 826NYC proudly presents The Spelling Beast for one night only at the Canal Room. Celebrity judges will challenge participants to recite words in sentences, define words and spell words forwards, backwards or in a sing-song voice. Bee participants will be able to contest these requests by bribing the judges on the day of the tournament. All proceeds from the event will benefit 826NYC and its creative writing programs for New York City schools and students. More information, including registration, can be found at www.826nyc.org
