7th Annual Woodstock International Film Festival January 23, 2009

Admission for the series is $30 per person or single tickets that can be purchased at $7.50 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Woodstock Theatre. The films selected for this year’s festival include:

-DIE FALSCHER (The Counterfeiters) [R] 98 ms
A group of professionals are forced to produce fake foreign currency under a program to weaken the economy of Germany’s allied opponents. (in English, German, Hebrew and Russian)

A story of retreat, rather than war, with no enemy, only an amorphous entity that drops bombs from the skies while terrified young solders try to carry out their mission (in Hebrew)

Marion Cotillard won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Edith Piaf, the great French singer known as the Little Sparrow. Her life is seen in flash backs as she struggles with alcohol and heartache thru her relationships with her circus performer father, street singer mother, madam grandmother and great love with French boxer, Marcel Cerdan.
