Bay Area Birth Information (BABI) will be holding its 7th annual Meet BABI - South Bay open house event connecting new & expectant families with dedicated professionals, services, information, and community resources.
This event will be held at the San Jose Scottish Rite Center (off of Hyw 87 & Curtner Ave) on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 10am-4pm. This FUN and FREE event has something for everyone!
You will have the opportunity to connect with professionals from all over the Bay Area. There will be midwives, doulas, childbirth & infant education instructors, breastfeeding and postpartum support, holistic healthcare practitioners, pre-natal/postpartum and infant massage therapists, yoga instructors, Mother & Infant Care Products, maternity & birth photographers, local support groups and more! There will also be shopping, free massage, personal consultations, demonstrations, prize drawings, children's play area and talks by local experts throughout the day.
Bay Area Birth Information promotes awareness of evidence-based care and options, in order to reduce unnecessary birth interventions, improve breastfeeding success rates, and encourage secure bonding between parents and their children.
Through compassionate, accessible, and non-judgmental education and resources, BABI seeks to increase and promote normal, spontaneous labor and vaginal delivery, minimize mother/baby separations, and reduce the maternal/infant morbidity and mortality rates. BABI promotes great-er awareness of evidence-based care and the broad range of choices available to birthing women as well as birth professionals, restoring dignity, safety, satisfaction and joy to the birthing process.
