The 7th Annual LA Songwriters’ Festival will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, September 15-17, at the American Legion Post 199 at 700 S. Mobile Street in Fairhope, and will benefit The Haven Adoption Guarantee Animal Shelter.
“Hundreds of festival attendees enjoy three days full of music from original songwriters from the Eastern Shore, Lower Alabama, Nashville and other locations with their family and friends, “ said Skip Jones, Chairperson for the event. “This year we are thrilled to be able to offer the proceeds to The Haven, our local no-kill animal shelter.”
The event will be hosted by celebrity songwriters Evans Davis and Charles Davis of the Leavin’ Brothers, well-known to all who enjoy country music. Presently, 36 original songwriters are scheduled to appear. In addition there will be vendor exhibits, food and other activities throughout the event. Admission is $10/day and all proceeds will go to The Haven.
On Saturday, September 17 from 10am to 2pm, the Haven’s MARU (Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit) will be present full of adoptable animals. The pets will surely bring music to the hearts of those who come looking for their next best friend. “This is a great location for the Songwriters’ Festival – under the oaks and over the bluff,” said Mike Graham, Executive Director of The Haven. “We hope everyone has a great time, but the Haven’s intent is serious. We want to end euthanasia in Baldwin County and the money generated will enable us to continue that mission.”
