"Only crazy people change the world" is an apt tagline for this new feature film, a love story set in Jerusalem between an Israeli Jew and a Palestinian Muslim.
"David & Fatima" is a drama that has its light moments, and both Martin Landau and Tony Curtis turn in brilliant, nuanced performances. Yet ultimately, like "Romeo & Juliet," the story is fraught with danger and moments of passion.
With the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the background, "David & Fatima" focuses on two families and their reactions surrounding the love that develops between 18-year-old David and Fatima.
Director Alain Zaloum, along with cast members Martin Landau, Danielle Pollack, Cameron Van Hoy, Merik Tadros and Anthony Batarse will present "David & Fatima" during this special screening at Laemmle's Santa Monica
