July 12, 2012, 6-8pm, and Every Second Thursday of Each Month
The Bothwell's Downtown Art Studios Announces the Next 6 Months of Art Happenings
The public is invited to join artists and art supporters in lovely Downtown Livermore for an evening stroll and some interesting art experiences with a new program of Art Happenings from July through December of 2012 available July 5th.
Art Happens is a monthly tour that occurs the second Thursday of each month now from 6 to 8pm. You are welcome to pick up a brochure map at any participating venue, or download one from www.bothwellartscenter.org.
As a sample of what to expect, July 12th's tour starts at Bothwell's Downtown Art Studios, where Dave Dunlap will demonstrate his impressionistic oil paintings of street scenes that demonstrate his mastery of impressionistic brushwork with charged color; Wild Vine Wine Bar and Lounge hosts an artist's reception for the Fremont Art Association, Plein Air/East Bay Outdoor Painters; you can create a fused glass plate at Art Glass Studios, view exhibits at Panama Red Coffee, Sanctuary Ultra Lounge, Livermore Art Association Gallery, Winemaker's Pour House, most of which feature drink and snacks/dining available for purchase; you can also check out a fascinating origami and paperfolding demo by Goran Konjevod, master of the craft at Figurehead Art Gallery. And, the always popular Blacksmith Square features Artistic Edge's timely Celebrating Made In the USA event. Many spaces offer live entertainment.
Art Happens is produced by the Bothwell Arts Center and Downtown Art Studios with significant help from Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center staff and volunteers such as Jennifer McGregor and Brenda Rose. The Bothwell is an arts incubator project of LVPAC, dedicated to helping to support the cultural arts with affordable rental space.
