WHAT: Following a very successful debut last summer, the 6 Corners BBQ Fest will be back for a delicious weekend in 2012!
Some of Chicago’s best BBQ restaurants will fire up the grills and dish out ribs, burgers, hot dogs, chicken and more! The kids will have a bouncing-blast on the inflatables or get their creative juices flowing with tables of arts and crafts. The stage will showcase the finest in local jams. And while patrons are wrist-deep in BBQ sauce, they can stroll the unique market place offering goods of all sorts! We’ve got Dad and the family covered at this two-day street festival, so come celebrate Father’s Day at Six Corners with food, music and fun!
WHEN: Saturday, June 16, from noon to 10 PM and Sunday, June 17, from noon to 8 PM.
WHERE: 4000-4080 Milwaukee Avenue (at Irving Park Road and Cicero Avenue), Chicago, IL 60641. The festival can be easily accessed via public transportation: CTA Blue Line Montrose and Irving Park stops and Cicero bus #54, Milwaukee bus #56 and Irving Park bus #80. The nearest Metra stations are the Mayfair and Grayland stops.
WHY: The Six Corners intersection in Portage Park has it all! Home to businesses both big and those smaller and locally owned, it’s primed for the best summer BBQ festival! Come be part of a unique experience, where Chicago’s bustling Milwaukee Avenue is shut-down to vehicles and opened up to you!
A portion of the proceeds from the festival go back into local nonprofit organizations in the Six Corners community through an innovative volunteer grant program. Other proceeds are also dedicated toward ongoing beautification upgrades around the neighborhood.
A historically recognized locale in Chicago, Six Corners is preparing to host the best in BBQ this summer! Don’t miss a drop of sauce!
WHO: The 6 Corners BBQ Fest is hosted by the Six Corners Association. Founded in 2002 by local businesses, the association was established to contribute to the revitalization of their historic business district – an area that dates back to the early 1900s. Currently, about 130 businesses work in conjunction with the Six Corners Association.
