Join us as the Historical Society of Central Florida honors Dr. Charles Norman Millican, the University of Central Florida’s first president, at the fifth annual John Young History Maker Celebration. The John Young History Maker Award, named after Captain John Young, is given each year to Central Floridians whose lifetimes of achievement have made a historic impact on the community. The John Young History Maker Past Award will be given posthumously to Earl “Duke” Crittenden, who once owned one of the state’s biggest citrus operations, Crittenden Fruit Co. Also the recipient of the 2010 John Young History Maker Future Award and scholarship will be announced. The Ballroom at Church Street.
