The University of Salford and Cornerhouse are proud to announce a special screening of Shelagh Delaney's A Taste of Honey. Released in 1961, directed by Tony Richardson and starring Rita Tushingham the film set a new landmark for social-realism in cinema. This story of a Salford Schoolgirl learning about life the hard way was shot on location in Greater Manchester and includes footage of the docks, now MediaCityUK, Adelphi Street as it was in 1961 and much more besides.
We are delighted to be able to welcome Murray Melvin who co-starred with Rita Tushingham and Dora Bryan and who will take part in a Q and A after the screening. The evening is hosted by Dr CP Lee Course Leader in Film Studies.
The film is rated 15 and costs between £4.50 - £7.50.
