The 4th of July's wildest party is at the Berkeley Marina & Cesar Chavez Park from noon-10PM with all kinds of fun! Adventure Playground is open 11am-8pm. On the north side of the marina there's physical fun with clear Zorbing balls that you step inside of to roll down the hill; a Slackline Stunt Show by artists who were in the Superbowl Half-time Show; a climbing wall, bungee run, jousting, a bungee trampoline, giant kites & more.
There's live entertainment on the main stage including the samba rock fusion band, Bautista; a special celebration of Louis Armstrong's birthday by Mal Sharpe's Big Money in Jazz Band; the Allman Step Brothers Band; Professor Gizmo's One-man Band; Troupe Tangiers and Sharifa's Habibis belly dancers, plus entertainers on The Buddy Club Stage in Shorebird and in smaller venues around the marina. There's craft booths, massages, pony rides, a petting zoo, dragon boat rides from 2-6pm, and much more including the grand fireworks off the end of the Berkeley Pier at 9:30pm.
Enjoy the entire event and get your 4th of July PASSPORT TO FUN! stamped at just four sites around the Marina for great prizes including cruises for two on Hornblower Yachts or an overnight stay at the Doubletree Hilton. Pick up your PASSPORT TO FUN! at event HQ, the red tent on University Ave., or download it from www.AnotherBullwinkelShow.com. Move between the north and south parts of the marina by mini train, your feet, or bike!
To get there: Ride a bike over the Berkeley Bicycle Overpass and park for free near Adventure Playground. Take AC Transit from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. This only runs until 6:30PM, however and doesn't come back into the marina. Leaving on AC Transit, walk out over the freeway overpass after the fireworks to University and 5th St. Plenty of car parking in free lots.
Free admission. Alcohol-free event. No cars after 7pm. Sponsored by McKevitt Fiat, City of Berkeley, KFOG, The Express & East Bay Loop.
