World class Irish dancers from Orange County schools highlight the festivities with all day performances on the Westside Stage. Claddagh School of Irish Dance from Lake Forest kicks things off at 10:30 a.m. with another show at 11:30 a.m. Aniar Academy of Irish Dance from Laguna Niguel is on stage at 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Fearon O’Connor School of Irish Dance from Mission Viejo is featured at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Other entertainment includes electric cellist Marston Smith performing Celtic music from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the ACE Stage presented by KSBR radio, Celtic stilt walker Joy Halverson from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Jeff Abbit, the Average Leprechaun, showing off a bit o’ Irish magic and comedy from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Green mint ice cream and green lemonade will be among the special food items for the day.
In its 41st year, the Orange County Market Place is held every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a .m. to 4 p.m. at the O. C Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa
(except during the Orange County Fair each summer) and includes nearly 1,000 vendors selling an assortment of merchandise and services, a produce market, children’s play area, Artisans’ and Crafters’ Corner, hair salon and a variety of food concessions.
