The Mother Truckers
It’s the unique tales contained in the tunes of witty singer songwriters Teal Collins and Josh Zee riding shotgun on the tight twang of kick ass guitars that keeps the Mother Truckers firing on all cylinders. Their new CD, Broke, Not Broken was named a top 12 picked by the Village Voice just as they slammed it into over drive at Willie Nelsons annual 4th of July Bash this year in Fort Worth. Now residing in Austin, don’t miss the Trucker’s pit stop in San Francisco. www.themothertruckers.com
77 El Deora
The depth and range of Jenn Courtney’s warm and attractive voice sends Maurice Tani’s neo noir honky tonk tunes blazing down a red dirt country road in a hot rod Lincoln to rock’s on ramp on their debut CD, “Sirens”. Bright, quirky humor backed up by superior musicianship delivers the goods for fast and fluent 77 El Deora. www.77eldeora.com/
Four Year Bender
“Lucky” is the title of this band’s warm, down home debut CD. Honest, unpretentious and refreshingly uncomplicated, Four Year Bender’s infectious, jazzy swing cuddles up with the tender twang of traditional country like tipsy lovers in the back booth of a bar with no closing time. www.fouryearbender.com
Valerie Jay and the Americanos
Valerie Jay’s distinctive roots music thrives on sweet dreams of country cool infected with a passion that makes sweet soul music, well... sweet. Classic country, memorable standards and original jewels with clever arrangements, solid bottoms and immaculate tempos carry Valerie Jay and the Americanos from strength to strength on their latest CD, ‘Pacific Time’. www.valeriejay.com
Kitty Rose Band
Yee Haw! Kitty Rose, the hottest classic country artist around, was voted Outmusic’s best female debut artist of 2005. Vintage twang, boogie woogie or cryin’ in yer beer ballads... close your eyes and Kitty’s new “Greatest Hits” CD drives it home; a woman’s place is in the groove, y’all. www.kittyrose4country.com
J. Byrd Hosch Quartet
These southern belles can drive the heavy equipment of raucous rockin’ country gems or slip into in the silky lingerie of gorgeous sentimental ballads. The warmth of multi part harmonies crossed with rock, an indomitable spirit and a perverse humor find the J. Byrd Hosch Quartet stopping just long enough to put a dent in your fender with their unique ability to entertain. www.jbyrdhosch.com
