Canadian Front: New Films Festival - MoMA`s fourth annual showcase of new films from Canada - features an eclectic selection of eight films celebrating the strength and diversity of Canada`s brightest filmmaking talent.
The series presents eight U.S. premieres, including, on the opening night, Sarah Polley`s feature length debut Away From Her, which is based on the lyrical Alice Munro short story The Bear Came Over the Mountain. The film stars Julie Christie, Gordon Pinsent, Olympia Dukakis, Wendy Crewson, Alberta Watson, and Michael Murphy. The showcase is presented by MoMA in collaboration with Telefilm Canada and the Consulate General of Canada, New York.
Also included in the series: Catherine Martin`s Dans les Villes, Bojan Bodruczic`s Immigrant, Charles Binamé`s Maurice Richard, Gary Burns`s Radiant City, Sophie Deraspe`s Recherchez Victor Pellerin, Martin Lavut`s Remembering Arthur, and Gariné Torossian`s Stone Time Touch.
