In 1949, Harry Winston introduced his “Court of Jewels”, which was an unprecedented exhibit of the most spectacular jewels in the world, to the public. Now, 60 years later, the 44th Lunar Rendezvous Festival introduces its own “Court of Jewels” during the Coronation Ball. This event will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 5 pm, at the Galveston Convention Center at San Luis, 5222 Seawall Blvd., Galveston.

The Festival Court is comprised of Princesses, Lieutenants, Little Ladies-In-Waiting and Young Pages who have been busy helping with Festival events throughout the summer. The Queen, Queen Alternate and Captain who will represent the Bay Area for the coming year will be announced and presented during the ball. A seated dinner and dancing to the music by “The Navigators” will complete the evening’s activities. Tickets are $125, per person. Please contact Kelli McCorkle Byrd, 713-622-3900 or kmbyrd@wadecocpa.com, for more information.

The Lunar Rendezvous Festival is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that preserves both the historical lore and the many great accomplishments in the space sciences made by residents of the Clear Lake/Bay Area. The Festival organization benefits the Bay Area Museum, college scholarships, area libraries, cultural arts groups, Bay Area Turning Point, Interfaith Caring Ministries as well as many other non-profit groups.
