This is a stage musical based on the movie musical about a stage musical. Peggy Sawyer is the ingenue fresh from Pennsylvania who gets her big break when the star of 'Pretty Lady,' Dorothy Brock, breaks her ankle in rehearsal. The show must go on. The driven director takes a chance on Peggy and the show shuffles off to Buffalo for a tryout. It's a hit! The book is by Michael Stewart, with lyrics by Al Dubin and music by Harry Warren.
