"40yearsvideoart.de: Digital Heritage" focuses on saving, maintaining, and mediating the cultural heritage of Video Art, one the most influential art forms of the twentieth century.
This comprehensive project is presented and supported by ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen/Düsseldorf, Kunsthalle Bremen, Lenbachhaus Munich, and the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig.
They compiled an exemplary selection, a panorama of 59 historic and current works of the last 4 decades.
The programm includes lumiaries such as Rebecca Horn, Wolf Vostell, Joseph Beuys, Valie Export, Ulrike Rosenbach, Robert Wilson, Marcel Odenbach, Bjorn Melhus, Harun Farocki and Corinna Schnitt, just to name a few.
Curated by Inke Arns, independent media expert and presented in collaboration with Thomas Solomon.
VIDEO ART will be continued in collaboration with other L.A. arts organizations, including LACMA.
