BIOGRAPHY

CINEMA VII's mission is to provide foundation content for popular entertainment events integrating music with dialogue. Specializing since 1974 in satire rising to the level of surrealism, it is the administer for the creative catalogue of Peter Dizozza (“The Golf Wars” and “Pro-Choice on Mental Health.”) Other musical projects have explored religious resurrections, hermaphroditism as the cure for war, and the need for identifying marks in civilization.

This production is the first staging of “A Question of Solitude,” following development with George Ferencz in La MaMa’s Experiments 2008 and 2009 Reading Series.

Artist Statement: This is a sensual piece exploring, through togetherness, the infusion and release of pressure. While informed by experience, it is formed in the wake of Ian Fleming literature and the movie genre he helped create—which music composers also helped to create.

While I suggest that all creativity is creative construct, I specifically acknowledge here that this assembling of words and music is a creative construct.

The title to this piece is a lyric in “Private Land,” a song from “The Last Dodo.” The full line is “Bring into focus a question of solitude. Make it a wonderful place to go.”

The real James Bond was an American professor of Ornithology best known for his coffee table book, “Wild Birds of the West Indies.” Ian Fleming thought the name anonymous, Anglo Saxon and masculine when he chose it for his secret agent.

The 2008-2009 season of its WAH Theater for the Performing Arts introduced “Paradise Found” and “The Woman Artist’s Journey” programs of plays by members of the Brooklyn Playwrights produced in conjunction with the celebration of John Milton’s 400th Birthday and the Woman Forward! Art Exhibition.
