Race Info
Enjoy a neighborhood within Downers Grove during the third annual Run for Hope, formerly Fun In The Sun 5k Fun Run! Experience a top-notch event with a community feel. This 5K is truly a neighborhood race, running through streets within Downers Grove, and benefiting Noah’s Hope.

After the event, celebrate with your family and friends at the post-race festivities on the grounds of the Downers Grove Swim & Racquet Club.

Charity
The proceeds from Run for Hope benefit Noah’s Hope Fund. Seven-year old Noah and his six-year old sister Laine are battling LINCL – Batten disease, a rare genetic illness that has ruthlessly robbed them of their speech, balance and mobility. At this time LINCL – Batten disease is always terminal, usually between the ages of eight and 12. Noah’s Hope has funded several research projects, partnered with other LINCL-Batten disease family foundations, and led many other initiatives in the fight against LINCL – Batten disease.

Registration Details

• Cost: $30/person by May 18th, $35/person day-of registration
• Day- of registration will begin at 7:00 AM
• Race Day Check-in at Downers Grove Swim & Racquet Club, 5560 Fairview Avenue, Downers Grove.
• All participants will receive a goodie bag and event t-shirt.

All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable

Timing
Run for Hope is using the latest in race timing technology, the Chronotrack B-Tag Timing System. Timing devices will be placed on the back of each participant’s bib number. It is important for all participants to wear their assigned number for accurate timing results.

Course
The course starts near Dearborn Pkwy and 59th St.,and takes participants through the streets of Downers Grove. Click here for the 2012 course map. A clock will be provided at the finish line, and Hydration stations providing water will be located at miles 1 and 3.

Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up will be available race day beginning at 7:00am at the registration tent, located at the Downers Grove Swim & Racquet Club.
