3RD ANNUAL CHARITY PUTT-PUTT INVITATIONAL
ROYAL OAK, MI: Michigan golf courses are flooded with golf outings every summer. These outings provide companies with a great excuse to get out of the office and raise some money for their favorite charities. But what if you don’t/can’t golf?? On Thursday, September 15th, 2011, The Lakeland Center will host the 3rd Annual Putt-Putt Invitational to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan. This will be just like a typical golf outing, with a few exceptions. Take out the stress of shotgun starts, picking which club to use, and keeping the cart on the trail, and you’ll have the most relaxing golf outing of the summer! And unlike the typical golf outing, our “Highest Score” and “Most Balls Lost” awards honor those who just want to come out to have fun and support a great organization!
The event will be held at the Royal Oak Golf Center, located at 3500 Edgar Ave., just east of Woodward and Coolidge. There will be food, beverages, and prizes, with an awards dinner at Pasquale’s to follow! The Putt-Putt course will be open from 3pm-6pm for those who would like to participate, and donations will be accepted at the course. Come on out and maybe you’ll walk away with one of our coveted bobble-head trophies! 
In the last couple of years we’ve been able to raise over $4,000 for the BIA, and we’d love to beat that this year!! For more information or to RSVP please contact Kate McClellan at KateM@TheLakelandCenter.net or call 248-350-7919. Updated sponsorship information can also be found at www.thelakelandgroup.blogspot.com.
The BIAMI is a non-profit organization that brings together people with brain injury, their families, friends and concerned professionals to improve the quality of life that people experience after brain injury.
A brain injury is a sudden event that can change a life. Whether it’s a mild injury that simply requires rest and monitoring or a serious traumatic injury that can result in serious permanent disabilities, traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are physical injuries to the brain that require expert, specialized assessment and treatment to ensure the best long-term outcome.
The Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) is there to help. They provide education, advocacy, research opportunities, support and support groups to brain injury survivors their families, and the people who serve them. Prevention information is provided in communities across Michigan.
