3rd Annual Merriment in Georgetown December 5, 2010

DC’s most anticipated holiday shopping and family event of the year in the heart of Georgetown. Merriment in Georgetown is presented and sponsored by the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with the Citizens Association of Georgetown and the Georgetown Business Association.

Usher in the holiday season with special sales and events, seasonal festivities, live entertainment, children’s activities, and culinary treats. From candlelight caroling to complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides, there’s something for everyone!

A Magical Celebration for All!

* Live performance from Milkshake, 2 to 3 p.m. Children can sing and dance to a special performance by popular PBS Kids’ and Noggin acclaimed kids’ rock band.
* Book signing with American Girl author Valerie Tripp. Girls are invited to bring their favorite dolls for a special book signing with the award-winning children’s author. And, be sure to stop by the "My Doll & Me" activities tent for hair braiding, jewelry making, and arts & crafts
* Meet Fox 5's Holly Morris who will host exciting contests, including a Fruitcake Eating Competition and "Don’t Forget the Lyrics" holiday style contest.
* Complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides through the cobblestone streets of Georgetown
* Meet Santa and take home a complimentary photo!
* Stay warm with Gourmet Hot Chocolate tastings from some of your favorite Georgetown restaurants. Just 25 cents a tasting and proceeds benefit the Prevention of Blindness Society (POB) who will also be providing free vision screenings.
