Things Are Heating Up For The 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off
Friends of the Pendleton Library and the Anderson Herald Bulletin Heating Up for the 3rd Annual Chili Cook Off
According to legend, Billy the Kid once remarked, “Anybody that eats chili can’t be all bad.” With that in mind, the Friends of the Pendleton Library, 595 East Water Street, are expecting a lot of “good folks” to be on hand for their 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off, scheduled for Saturday, February 6th. Organizations and individuals who want fame and fortune can enter to win prizes and bragging rights. A panel of representatives from the Pendleton ambulance, fire and police departments will determine who will receive awards in the categories of Best Overall for an Individual, Best Overall for a Business or Organization and Best Presentation.
The public is invited to sample the creative entries between noon and 3:00 p.m. and then cast a vote for “Tasters Choice” award. All winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door.
In addition to the chili competition, the fundraiser will feature a bake sale, a trivia challenge and a Mr. Hot Stuff & Ms. Chili Pepper contest.
