What is the Marathon Jam? Noon-Midnight!
Local bluegrass band East of Afton hosts this annual event where local music fans of all ages gather to hear and play music with the goal of raising money to support The Richmond Fisher House. We’ll have a great line-up of regional bluegrass and Americana bands and, as always, we’ll have a variety of great food available including some championship barbecue and your favorite beverages!
If you’re a musician, BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT and you’ll find plenty of room to pick with some new or old friends! Last year, we had over 1500 people drop by and the atmosphere was simply amazing...all in support of a very worthy cause!
Here’s how it works...
First and foremost, we’re there to raise money for our military families...so, although there is no charge to get in the door, we encourage your generous, tax-deductible donation. ALL proceeds will go to the Richmond Fisher House (www.richmondfisherhouse.org).
We’ll have great bands lined up for back-to-back sets so you’re guaranteed to hear some top-notch music! We’ll have a few “open-stage” sets, so those who bring their instruments and find some pickin’ buddies will also have the chance to show their stuff to the crowd. There’ll also be plenty of room to just find a corner to strike up a good ole’ fashioned jam.
This year we have a great new venue. The beautiful CACGA, is in a great location near I-295 and I-95 with plenty of free parking. Spread the word and bring your music loving friends!
