Please join Sim Van der Ryn, pioneer of ecological design, and Dave Henson, intentional community and social justice organizer, in-conversation about building sustainable communities from both design and social perspectives, and specifically about the Farallones Institute, which was founded by Van der Ryn in 1974, and is now the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, founded in 1994, of which Henson is a co-founder and the Executive Director.
After the talk, there will be information and resource tables set-up by co-sponsors of this event, including the Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM), Occidental Arts & Ecology Center (OAEC), and Point Reyes Books. Sim Van der Ryn will also sign copies of his newly released book, Sustainable Communities: A New Design Synthesis for Cities, Suburbs and Towns.
