34th Kolkata Book Fair January 25, 2010

Mexico will be the focal theme of the book fair, to coincide with the centenary of the Mexican revolution.
The fair will be open from noon to 8pm on working days and till 9pm on holidays.

KOLKATA: There's no missing the Trinamool-sponsored stall (No. 253) at the book fair this time. Not only will the 400-sqft stall be right opposite the theme pavilion, it will be regularly attended by ministers throughout the duration of the fair. The stall will be used by the party for vehement campaign against the CPM, though the party officially denies the fact and insists that the book fair is not the right platform for political campaigning.

Among those who received prizes from Beth Payne were Shaktipada Rajguru and Shyamapada Bhattacharya. Stalls of Mexico and Mongolia were given theme country and special appearance awards. West Bengal Police and West Bengal Fire and Emergency Service received prizes for their adept organisation of the mela. So did the forest department and Kolkata Police.
