The 33rd annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival presents its final weekend July 1-3, with energetic performances by nine dance companies: Rara Tou Limen (Haitian), Caminos Flamencos (Spanish), Yang Yang Dance (Chinese), Halau o Keikiali'i (Hawaiian), De Rompe y Raja Cultural Association (Afro-Peruvian), Charya Burt Cambodian Dance (Cambodian), Chinyakare Ensemble (Zimbabwean), Bal Anat (Egyptian), and Compania Mazatlan Bellas Artes (Mexican). In addition, the Ohlone Tribal Dance will give a performance of Native American dance, bringing the Festival full circle. The final weekend consists of four performances at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' Novellus Theatre: Friday, July 1 at 8 pm; Saturday, July 2, at 3 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, July 3, at 3 pm. Building on its past success as the most extensive and highly regarded festival of its kind, and responding to both dance community and public demand, the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival is excited to offer new performances, events and venues for the 33rd season, scheduled in San Francisco and, for the first time, in Berkeley, from June 3-July 3, 2011.
