33rd Annual Exploratorium Awards Dinner - May 20 May 20, 2010

The Exploratorium honors Genentech’s Board Chairman and former CEO, Dr. Arthur Levinson, with the Director’s Award at the Exploratorium’s 33rd Annual Awards Dinner. Noted science author and journalist Timothy Ferris receives the Public Understanding of Science Award. Edith K. Ackermann of MIT receives the Outstanding Educator Award. Co-chairs for the event are Exploratorium Board member Sandy Otellini and Paul Otellini, CEO of Intel; Dr. Susan Desmond-Hellmann, MD, MPH, Chancellor of the University of California, San Francisco, and Nick Hellmann; and Bill Rutter, Chairman and CEO of Synergenics, LLC, Chairman Emeritus of Chiron Corporation. Table sponsorships range from $50,000 to $5,000; individual tickets are $500. Over 500 guests are anticipated. The reception begins at 6:30pm. Dinner begins at 7:30pm.
