32nd Annual Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon road race.

On Sunday, June 24, 2012 the Fairfield Half Marathon will stage its thirty-second annual road race.

Nearly 5000 runners - including international stars and runners from across the country - will converge on Jennings Beach for the 13.1 mile half marathon. An additional 1500 runners are expected for the Saturday 5-kilometer road race.

An event that started with just 200 runners has become one of the premier running events in the United States. Accolades for the race include being two-time host of the U.S. Women's National Half Marathon Championship, three-time host of the National Masters' Half Marathon Championship, and routinely selected as one of the country's top road races by Runner's World magazine.

On Saturday, June 23, 2012, the 5K race will be run again for the seventeenth year. Added to the race schedule in 1995 - and moved to Saturday in 2011 - the 5K has become a popular family event.

Hosted by Fairfield Firefighters, the two races have become true community events. During the events, several thousand volunteers and spectators will be at the beach and line the course to support the runners. Proceeds from the two races support numerous charitable organizations.
