201 E. Main Street, Second Floor, Gettys Art Center
Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730

Gallery Up’s fourth annual juried art competition, 30 Small Works, will once again be gracing OldTown Rock Hill from June 15 – July 29, 2011. The artist reception will be on June 23, 2011 from 6 pm to 8 pm and is free and open to the public and will include a cash bar.

With an excellent response to the call for entries, generating submissions from all over the country, this year’s exhibition promises to be a fun and engaging representation of current art making from all over. Up reduced the size limitations even more this year, so submissions to the competition were required to be no larger than 15 inches in any direction and created within the past two years. This year’s juror is Barbara Schreiber, a North Carolina artist that creates colorful, intimate paintings and drawings that depict a world in disarray. Barbara graduated magna cum laude from the Maryland Institute, College of Art.

30 Small Works will open in conjunction with the reception for the 7th Annual Photography Competition at the York County Center for the Arts. Select artist studios at the Gettys Art Center and Space 157 will also be open to the public that evening. Visit www.galleryup.com for details on the show and information on upcoming events.
