2nd Annual Palm Beach PopStar Competition September 21, 2008

Bob Lappin and the Palm Beach Pops, in cooperation with The Gardens Mall and KOOL 105.5 FM

The search is on for the next Palm Beach PopStar! The competition is open to amateur singers, age 18 and up with the winner performing live with Bob Lappin & The Palm Beach Pops at their concert series in November featuring Judy Collins. Audition videos may be submitted through Friday, October 10, 2008 at 5:00 pm. EST with the top ten finalists to be announced Monday, October 13, 2008. The Palm Beach PopStar finals will be held at The Gardens Mall on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from noon to 2pm where the contestants will perform one song live before a panel of judges, including Maestro Bob Lappin, 2007 Palm Beach PopStar winner Cory Marin, Tim Byrd “The Byrdman” afternoon radio personality on KOOL 105.5, entertainment critic Leslie Gray Streeter of The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Pops’ drummer Frank Derrick and Michele Jacobs of The Gardens Mall. The grand prize winner, as well as runner-ups will be announced on October 22 at a champagne reception hosted by The Gardens Mall.
