On Wednesday, May 9th, 2012, Canada’s most historic Regiment and York Region’s only Regiment, the Queen’s York Rangers, will be hosting the 2nd Annual Lieutenant Governor Simcoe’s Levee. There will be a cocktail reception and silent auction. Proceeds from the event will go to support the Queen’s York Rangers’ Regimental Assistance Plan.
Time: 6:00p.m – 9:00p.m.
Location: The Aurora Cultural Centre, 22 Church Street, Aurora Ontario, L4G 1G4
Tickets: $250 per person
The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, The Honourable David C. Onley, is the Honorary Colonel of the Regiment and is expected to attend the event along with business leaders, politicians and residents from York Region and beyond. There will be entertainment by the Queen’s York Rangers’ Pipes and Drums Band and historical period re-enactors. The event will be catered by Aurora’s Edward Street Bistro and Annalisa Asian Fusion Cuisine & Lounge.

The Queen’s York Rangers are Canada’s most historic Regiment and York Region’s only Regiment. Their story begins more than 250 years ago and has seen them involved in many of Canada’s most notable conflicts and events, such as the Seven Years’ War, the American Revolution and the founding of York. To this day, the Regiment and the Regimental family continue to contribute to the communities of Toronto and Aurora, of which they are proud to be a part.
