Celebrate spring with a family-friendly feast of the Chesapeake’s most cherished bivalve. VIP admission is $40, which includes a commemorative T-shirt and tastings of oyster dishes from area restaurants competing for “bragging rights” for Annapolis’ best oyster recipe. General admission: $25, $5 for ages 13 – 18, 12 & under free. The festivities include the burning of the socks, live music, oyster shucking contests, family activities and exhibits, and plenty of oysters – raw, steamed, fried and roasted – and, for a modest additional fee, BBQ, hotdogs and hamburgers, plus beer, wine and soft drinks. Tickets are available at amaritime.org, along with directions, parking and other information.
