An estimated 6,000 runners and walkers will take part in the DC metro area’s largest 10K race along the Potomac River, through Georgetown, and past historic sites to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, and raise funds for the American Heart Association (AHA). Presented by Baker Tilly, this annual DC tradition, open to everyone, brings together top law firms and their vendors, elite athletes, runners, and walkers of all experience levels. The Lawyers Have Heart run begins in two waves at 7:30 a.m., and the 3K Fun Walk begins immediately following. Participants and spectators will have a post-race party on the plaza with refreshments, music, giveaways and prizes. To date, this event has raised more than $7.5 million to further the mission of the AHA. Call the AHA at 703-248-1706 for information. Entry fee: $40 through 5/26, $45 5/27-6/11, $10 for children 12 and under. Registration required; find more information at www.runlhh.org.
