The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra is thrilled to announce its annual Spring Gala, "Music for All Seasons," at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at the historic and architecturally stunning City Club of San Francisco, located in the Stock Exchange Tower at 155 Sansome Street.
Starting with a 4:00 champagne reception, guests will enjoy sumptuous hors d'oeuvres followed by an exhilarating musical program featuring a cornucopia of musical offerings.
Performing with members of the renown SF Chamber Orchestra are soloists including SFCO oboist Peter Lemberg, whose repertoire runs the gamut of musical genres from jazz to opera; violinist Tom Yaron in a sizzling performance of a Piazzolla Argentine tango; San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow and mezzo soprano Erin Johnson, singing a sublime Respighi aria; and SFCO concertmaster Robin Sharp, playing the solo part of the bubbly and exuberant "Summer" movement from Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
Adding to the evening's festivities will be live auction items featuring several exclusive and fun packages, including; a week's stay at a gorgeous Paris apartment; an elaborate Italian meal for eight with KDFC radio personality Dianne Nicolini, prepared by a trained chef who cooked in Italy for many years and paired with wines selected by a connoisseur and collector of Italian wines; a house concert by SFCO all-stars; a recital at the winning bidder's own private event by concertmaster Robin Sharp; and a sailing trip on the San Francisco Bay with picnic lunch and libations.
As the organization's only fundraising event, the gala will help to support the Orchestra's complete season of admission-free concerts and educational outreach programs throughout the Bay Area.
