River City Segs is extending our everyday goal of engaging people with Richmond, its history & its art with the “2013 Easter Segg Hunt”. Easter weekend, Fri. March 29 – Sun. March 31, 2013, River City Segs will be hiding eggs or “Seggs”, around Richmond filled with free goodies from local businesses. Clues to the seggs locations will be on Twitter with #SeggHunt, River City Segs’ Facebook page, & at participating businesses. Along with the gifts inside the seggs, there will be directions to thank the company generous enough to give them that prize on River City Segs’ Facebook page or tweeting at them with #SeggHunt, and of course, to follow that business.
Who can find the eggs? Anyone that loves RVA and a challenge, or anyone who happens to stumble across the eggs can participate.
Why would someone want to find these eggs? Each egg will contain a gift from a local business.
What if eggs are not found? We know where eggs are hidden, so at the end of the promotion we will go around and collect any eggs not found.
What is the goal of this? “Our goal is to get people talking, tweeting, and facebooking about RVA and its amazing local businesses. We want people to get excited about the city, learn about it, and experience it,” said Jeff Majer.
Many of the participating businesses are the best in the tour business like Riverside Outfitters, Richmond Trolley Company, Real Richmond Food Tours, River City Segs and The Valentine Richmond History Center. Other businesses that make Richmond unique like World of Mirth and Globe Hopper Coffeehouse, are also participating. We’ll be adding more companies up until the day of the Segg Hunt. “We are hoping to get at least 200 seggs filled with local goodness for folks to find,” Nathan Willis said.
