Swarovski will unveil the 2012 Star, which will sit atop the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, on Tuesday, November 20th, at 11:00, at Rockefeller Center, 49th and 50th Streets between 5th and 6th Avenues in Manhattan.
Designed by Michael Hammers, the 2012 Swarovski Star is made up of 25,000 crystals and features energy-efficient LED bulbs and a state-of-the-art computer program, which creates a stunning, twinkling effect through customized light sequencing. First created for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in 2004, the Star was redesigned in 2009 to feature dynamic light movement. The Swarovski Star delights the millions of spectators that visit this New York City holiday landmark each year.
The Star will be featured during the 80th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting taking place on Wednesday, November 28th.
