Summer is here!!! Its time for yet another exciting session of TPP!!! If you are interested in film making or want to learn more about the art of journalism, stop by the Media Arts Center and experience a little bit of both. We want to share your voice!!!Teen Producers Project
In the TPP classes teens will learn the basic principles of filmmaking, students will learn how to make short, 2-3 minute digital stories. Students will learn basic lighting techniques, storyboarding, camera skills, and Final Cut Pro.
In the Advanced TPP classes young adults will learn the key principals of video production using the latest HD DSLR cameras, digital audio field-recording, balancing audio levels, and soundtrack creation. Students will also learn color correction, titles, captions, credits, and other advanced Final Cut Pro skills.
Media Arts Center San Diego has offered after school media arts programs since 2001 for youth ages 10-18 through the Teen Producers Project. Hundreds of youth throughout San Diego County and Orange County have learned about filmmaking and digital storytelling and have produced engaging video projects.
During the Summer of 2001, participating teens (ages 15-18) will become citizen journalists by creating short digital stories for The SPEAK CITY HEIGHTS initiative. The SPEAK CITY HEIGHTS project is funded by the California Endowment in partnership with VoiceofSanDiego.org, Media Arts Center San Diego, AjA Project, and KPBS. The goal of the project is to bring City Heights voices & stories into local news via 2-3 minute digital stories. Teens will pick leaders & topics from the City Heights community and create a 2-3 minute digital video highlighting important community issues.
TPP Class for teens 14 to 18 years of age who are interested in filmmaking.
When: Saturdays, June 23- August 25 [Except July 7]
(10 weeks) 10 am - 2 pm
