The 2012 Community Tour celebrates those who give their hearts, time and skills to strengthen communities. The two-month program kicked off on May 12th in Miami, Florida, and continues up the East Coast, following the route of the East Coast Greenway and culminating in Portland, Maine, on July 7th, the International Day of Cooperatives. The Tour features eight major weekend stops in key cities along the northerly route, including Miami, Charleston, Durham, Fredericksburg, Wilmington, New York City, Providence and Portland. Additionally, weekday events including a Manchester stop, will take place at sites all along the route between the key cities. While events and activities vary by market, the overall theme of cooperatives, community service and volunteerism will be the hallmark of each celebration.
The Manchester event includes: a community breakfast and short program as our riders begin Day 47 of their Greenway ride en route to Danielson, CT.
Breakfast will feature Cabot Cheese and Greek Yogurt, fresh fruit, and Cabot’s Cheese-N-Egg Cups prepared by Highland Park Market’s Chef John.
A short program will honor the Cabot tour riders and several local volunteers.
Riders will be welcomed by members of Highland Park Market, Chamber of Commerce, Township Engineer and other community officials.
Admission to the event is free and is open to the public!
