Who needs Dancing with the Stars when the best ballroom dancers and competitions are held right here in Atlanta? The Georgia Star Ball is back this year with a bigger and better ballroom competition covering the entire Southeast region. On March 27, 2010, the annual Georgia Star Ball will be in full swing with some of the region’s and Atlanta’s best ballroom dancers.
Academy Ballroom Cumberland will be hosting a one-day ballroom competition in all dance categories from single, multi and theatre arts ballroom dancing. Judi Hatton and Kimberlee Richards will head an all-star panel of judges best known in the ballroom world, with all the credentials. The competition will have a variety of amateur and professional dancers, ranging from ages 8 to 78, dancing in both American and International ballroom styles. If you liked what you saw on Dancing with the Stars, you will see it all at Academy Ballroom Cumberland, which recently expanded its facility.
Last year’s competition was a sold-out event and, from the pre-registrations so far, this year is sure to be an even bigger success with more competitors and ballroom enthusiasts joining in. And with the new studio renovations, there are sure to be not only more dancers, but ballroom lovers in the audience, as well. Studios from Birmingham, Chattanooga, South Carolina, Savannah, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa and other locations will be converging to the studio for the event.
Academy Ballroom Cumberland is Atlanta's newest and best Ballroom and Latin dance studio, located just south of Cumberland Mall on US Hwy 41.
