Estate planning today is complex and in constant change. Now more than ever it is important to keep current with developments and proposed legislation impacting estates for individuals, family-owned businesses and seniors. Join estate planning professionals on Nov. 1-2, 2010, in Seattle for the 55th annual Estate Planning Seminar, hosted by the Estate Planning Council of Seattle and the Washington State Bar Association.

Approximately 1,000 lawyers, accountants, insurance professionals, trust officers, financial planners, and planned giving/development officers for nonprofit organizations are expected to attend this nationally recognized event, which will be held at the Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, Seattle.

"Not only do we have outstanding national and local speakers who are nationally recognized in their fields, but the topics are both timely and educational. Our presenters will discuss the most up-to-date information and changes with estate tax legislation, everything that is vital for any estate planning professional," said Kirstin Humann Thompson, chair of the Estate Planning Seminar and estate planning attorney with Stoel Rives LLP in Seattle.

This year's topics include state and federal updates, how to "bomb proof" the estate plan, and Medicaid planning. Speakers will also explore the areas of Roth IRA conversions and estate planning with Roth IRAs, estate planning for non-citizens, and the top 10 income tax problems estate planners encounter. There will also be a seminar session aimed at estate planners from Oregon.
